Viva Las Vegas
I recently returned from a 3-day-escape to Las Vegas, Nevada, which marked my 5th trip in 2015. My first stop this year was in St. John, followed by Boston, San Francisco, Miami and now Vegas. My goal is to go on one trip a month for the whole year and so far I am 5 for 5. Next stop: Philadelphia!
I've only been to Vegas one other time before this trip and I really enjoy the city. If you've never been, just know it is everything you may think it is and more! A very fun and exciting destination with always so much to do and see.
My trip began by checking into the Bellagio, which is conveniently located on “the strip” also known as Las Vegas Blvd. The hotel is very grand with nearly 4,000 rooms and 9 restaurants. The resort’s retail promenade includes shops by Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent; just to name a few. I've never experienced a hotel like this and can only compare it to being on a cruise ship. A very luxurious cruise ship. As big as the hotel is, the service was extraordinary and every staff member I encountered was very humble and always made me feel at home. With all the great things that live inside the hotel, I think the best part of the resort is on the outside- the Bellagio’s famous Fountains which spring different spurts of water with color-coordinated lights to a variety of music. It is a beautiful vision and luckily I was able to experience the fountains from my Penthouse Suite, located on the 36th floor of the hotel. I spent a big portion of my mornings and early afternoons by the pool area which was very glamorous and relaxing. If you are looking for a Vegas pool-party scene, this isn't the hotel for you. Luckily for me, I grew out of that stage many years ago. I really loved the Bellagio and next time I am in town, I know where I’m staying!
Besides the hotel, the other two highlights of my trip were seeing Britney Spears and Mariah Carey at their Vegas residences.
Night one, I attended Britney Spears’ concert. I've always been a big fan of hers but never saw her in concert. I have to say, I was very impressed. She was full of energy and strong choreography the entire show. Her dancing was very good and reminded me of the young Britney version we all fell in love with. She was very playful with the audience and her dancers; you would have never known she sprained her ankle just days before. She is definitely worth seeing and I just may be back before her residence at Planet Hollywood is up. (Ticket Information and Concert Dates)
During the second night of my Vegas escape I saw Mariah Carey! I have seen Mariah Carey in concert a few times before and am a huge fan. This concert was very special as she was celebrating all of her 18 #1 songs. She performed each song in chronological order from “Vision to Love” to “Touch my Body.” She closed the show with her new single “Infinity” off her newest album “#1 to Infinity.” The diva gave us all the big notes and whistle tones we expected and has always been very entertaining in concert. Mariah always talks to the audience and sings acapella lines in between her numbers. She looked absolutely beautiful and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I didn’t win big at the casino, although I was up here and there at times. All and all a very fun trip and I am thinking I will be probably be back next year (at the latest…)
