And They Call it a Concrete Jungle
Manhattan always seems to amaze me. Right when you think you’ve seen it all, you remember there’s a zoo in Central Park that you knew existed but realized you’ve never been to. Today’s plan, like most Sundays was to explore [Central Park] and perhaps find some pretty sights to photograph. Following the route of shade to stay cool, I stumbled upon the Central Park Zoo and decided this would be today’s discovery. The zoo is located between 65th & 66th street by 5th Avenue.
Just $12 to enter, we were suddenly greeted by a pool of sea lions who seemed to enjoy the attention of the surrounding spectators.
Other attractions in the zoo include penguins, snow monkeys, red pandas, snow leopards and even grizzly bears. For a full list of animal residents and zoo hours, visit: http://centralparkzoo.com/
If you haven't been to the Central Park Zoo yet, or maybe you have and want to see it again- they are open all year round.
