I Love Warby Parker
I've been wearing eye glasses since the 6th grade and contact lenses since the start of high-school. Although contacts are my first choice, especially when heading to a restaurant, bar, event or any place where I plan on socializing - I will admit that there are those days when you just feel like rocking the glasses-look. In fact I am wearing them right now! It’s nice to have the option. It’s kind of like wearing a hat vs. not wearing a hat. Those without 20/20 vision who have not had Lasik, understand…
I recently was in the market for a new pair of eye glasses and took a trip to the store I normally go to, which will go unnamed. The sales woman just kept pulling out frames from the glass enclosed cases that she thought I may like and even presented some options she pulled from the drawers. I started to think to myself – what makes this woman an expert in finding eye glasses I may be interested in purchasing? Does she know my taste? Then of course I pointed to a couple of pairs within the case, asking to see them. I spent way too much time speaking and explaining “No, not that pair, the pair to the left of that one” or “The 3rd brown pair up from the 2nd row.” Then once I found a pair I was remotely interested in, the next obvious question would be “how much?” Well…. After the calculator came out and the anti-glare and scratch resistant was added, I was looking at a minimum of $300.
After being in the store for over an hour and not finding one pair of glasses I wanted to purchase, I started to become very frustrated and left the store. Then I remembered hearing good things about the store Warby Parker from friends and colleagues who have purchased eye glasses from there. I headed to the subway and started to make my way to their Upper East Side location. (You can check out all locations here.)
The second I walked into Warby Parker, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Beautiful shelves lined with hundreds of stylish eye glasses. Most of the single-vision glasses are $95 TOTAL. That includes tax, delivery, anti-glare and scratch resistant. There are select pairs for a $145, but I happened to be interested in most of the $95 ones. There were so many pairs I wanted, that it was hard to choose just one. It seemed like such a luxury to be able to grab the frames myself and try them on without needing to ask for assistance. Giant floor to ceiling mirrors surrounded the store which of course made it simple to check myself out in potential frames. The entire experience was seamless and I was providing the WP associate my mailing address within 20 minutes- but not before I did a mini photo shoot in their free photo booth. I never thought shopping for eye glasses could be so much fun.
The online shopping experience is also amazing. They offer a virtual try-on option where you can upload a photo of yourself and see how you would look in the glasses of your choice. You can also choose up to 5 pair of frames and have them mailed to you, to try on in the comfort of your own home.
Warby Parker donates a pair of glasses to someone in need every time a purchase is made.
This is an incredible brand that truly caters to the customer experience and offers a great product for a very reasonable price
